Step-by-step walthrough

Many people are confused in where to start in emulation. I was once confused and now I am going to make emulation easy for a beginner.

First of all, pick a hard drive with at least 30 MB of free space. In order to check this, click on MY COMPUTER.
When the drives come up, right click on one and choose properties. If FREE SPACE = 30 MB or more, then remember the name of that drive. Keep trying until you get one.

Once chosen, open up WINDOWS EXPLORER. Find your hard drive and create a new folder called EMULATION. Open that folder and inside that, create 3 more folders, one called EMULATORS, one called ROMS, and one called OTHER FILES

Next, you will need to make sure you have the latest versions of these files ---WINZIP---and ---DIRECTX---. If you don't go to my Favorite links page and click on the links to these, and save them under OTHER FILES.

After that, go back to WINDOWS EXPLORER and upload them. Then, you need to go to Brain's Emulation Page and dowload three necessary files. The link to his page is in my emulation links.

Now you are set for the real emulation tutorial. That was actually the preperation stages. Now the good part...

Go to this site: http://www.zophar.net/windos.phtml - Look under CONSOLE and click NES. When the page comes up, find NESTER and click download. Download the Windows version. Save it under Emulators.

Once the file is fully downloaded, go to WINDOWS EXPLORER, find the file and right mouse click it. Under WINZIP, click EXTRACT TO HERE.

Then go to Ultimate NES ROMS.It is a great site. Once again, in my Fav. links page. Pick and choose any ROM to download. They all work, so save them under ROMS.

Finally, you are ready to play! Extract the ROM, just like last time, and click on NESTER. Go to OPEN ROM, and find your ROM file. Wait for it to load, and you will be able to emulate for life!

I hope this tutorial helped you. I detailed it as much as possible. WARNING: Do not ask or beg me for My ROM files. If so, I will turn you in to Nintendo or another company for steal video games. Don't take it personal, Im just saying, i don't want ROM beggars. THANX!
